Write for Carry On.
Carry On Audio turns serialized stories into full-cast audio dramas. There are two ways to write with us: publish your own series as a Carry On writer, or apply for a paid contract to write a series for Carry On Audio.
Publish your own series
Write and produce your series in the Carry On Studio, with character voices, sound effects and atmosphere. You keep the copyright in your story and earn a share of its sales on Carry On.
A paid contract with Carry On
Every writer starts the same way: publishing their own series under the Carry On Writer Agreement. Writers who meet the requirements below are sent a paid contract offer automatically. Its pay and terms are in that written offer, which you read and sign before any paid work begins.
A commissioned series belongs to Carry On Audio: when you sign, you transfer the copyright in the story you write for us. You're credited by your pen name, and the story must be your own original work, free of any other contract.
Before a paid contract: 6 months as a Carry On writer
We take on paid writers who have shown us they're in it for the long run. When you apply, you start on this path first. For 6 months:
- Stay a paying Carry On writer, with no gap: the monthly writer membership, with your own voices and sound effects paid for as production minutes.
- Publish at least 8 episodes every month. Consistency is the main thing we look for.
- Build your readers: promote your series yourself, and show us followers, ratings or reviews on it.
Once you've met all three for 6 months, a paid contract offer is sent to you automatically, in your Messages. Read it, ask us anything, and sign when you're ready. Your own series stays yours the whole time.
